General trading policies

We are a business registered for VAT (Value Added Tax or Sales Tax) in the UK.

Within the European Union, the price displayed shall include VAT at the prevailing United Kingdom rate (currently 17.5%). A VAT invoice will be issued with the goods.

Goods supplied to destinations outside of the European Union, for example USA, will be billed without VAT. The shopping cart price will be approximately 13.043% less than the price shown below the products within our web pages. An accurate customs declaration will be clearly displayed on the package or parcel, and dependent upon the order value, customers may be liable for Import Duty at rates prevailing in their home country at time of delivery.

Invoicing

We may on occasion release the goods upon receipt of an official order prior to payment.

Under these circumstances, a VAT invoice will be issued.

Payment becomes due 30 days from date of invoice. Goods remain the property of Richard Cassidy Ltd until the invoice is paid in full.

Payment may be made by Mastercard, VISA, Maestro, Solo, cheque or bank transfer. Our bank details are made available upon request.

Warranties

Unless otherwise stated, all new goods shall be guaranteed free of defects for a minimum period of 12 months from date of purchase.

Some items may be classed as 'consumables' and are therefore excluded from the standard 12 month warranty. Examples of consumables are:

Breast pump valves
Breast pump diaphragms
Breast pump collection set components
Breastmilk storage bags or bottles

However, even consumables can be expected to be of merchantable quality and to be 'reasonably' durable. Defective consumables would normally be replaced.

For example, an Ameda spare white valve could be reasonably expected to last three weeks under normal use, but would simply be discarded as 'worn out' after 3 months of use.

Careful attention should be paid to manufacturer's warranty terms, particularly with breast pumps. Medela for example stipulate that some breast pumps are intended for single patient use only.

Personal care items

EU Distance Selling Regulations allow a statutory minimum of 7 days 'cooling-off' period from receipt of goods.

In the event of a change of mind, we will refund cost of goods excluding shipping charges provided we are notified of the intention to return and we receive the goods in original condition within a 14 day period.

The majority of items sold by us are classed as 'personal care' items. For hygiene reasons, any personal care items returned in a condition unfit for resale (i.e. box seals disturbed, packaging disturbed) will not be refunded.
